Frequently asked questions and inquiries

I want to run multiple cars at the same time

Since it uses the 2.4GHz band, multiple units can be operated simultaneously without interference.
Please pair each device in turn.
If pairing is not successful, wait about 30 seconds and then try again.
Try pairing in order.

There is a strange noise like "beep" or "poo" when driving

The high-pitched sounds such as "beep" or "poop" that occur while driving are due to PWM control.
Especially at low speeds, short pulses are sent at long intervals, making high tones stand out.
To put it in perspective, it's like the sound of a car engine; it always occurs.

[C74] When I turn the steering wheel and operate the throttle, there is a rattle.

The "maximum" setting of the turning angle is based on customization using metal parts.
If you drive with the standard suspension, it will rattle and make a strange noise like "cranky".
The increased load could cause the propeller shaft to come off.

If you want to run it without customization,
Press the ST.EP button and reset the steering angle to "small".

[C74] One side of the tire lifts off the ground when turning

Because the differential lock is used to emphasize off-road performance,
When turning, one side of the tire may lift off the ground.
Due to structural specifications, it is not possible to completely prevent this behavior,
This can be reduced to some extent by pressing the steering EP button to set the turning angle to small.

I want to know the driving time

The running time is about 30 minutes. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge.

Charging is possible from a PC, but since the power supply is unstable, there is a risk of shortening the battery life.

You can also charge the device using a 1A plug sold at 100 yen shops, but please note that this will take longer.

Regarding the charging environment, the recommended standard is up to 5V 2.0A.
Please note that if you charge using a plug with a current of 2.0A or more, it may damage the charging cable, battery, or in the worst case scenario, even the circuit board.

It can only run for about 5 minutes from a fully charged state, and it takes about 10 minutes to fully charge from a completely discharged state, etc.
If your battery life is extremely short or if it charges quickly, the battery may be faulty.

What is the speed per hour?

The D12 is about 12km/h.

The C series (C14, C24, C24-1, C34) has a maximum speed of approximately 7km/h.

Regarding the receiver/ESC (January 2022)

There have been changes to the specifications of the receiver/ESC for the C14, C24, C24-1, and C34 in order to improve quality.

■Changes : The system will be gradually replaced with a new type of receiver and ESC.
There is no functional difference.

The tire is warped and won't go straight.

Some distortion is within the specifications.

The C34 in particular is prone to distortion due to the characteristics of the tire shape.

To a certain extent this will be within the range of specifications, but if it significantly impedes driving, please contact customer support and attach a video of the driving session and images of the tires.

[C34] The door is bent

There are cases where the door is warped on the C34.
This is the structural specification.

It is possible to straighten the hair by hand to some extent by using hot air from a hair dryer.

I want to know how long it takes to fully charge

It takes about 4 hours to fully charge.

Charging is possible from a PC, but since the power supply is unstable, there is a risk of shortening the battery life.
You can also charge the device using a 1.0A plug sold at 100 yen shops, but please note that this will take longer.

The recommended specification is up to 5V 2.0A.
Please note that if you charge using a plug with a current of 2.0A or more, it may damage the charging cable, battery, or in the worst case scenario, even the circuit board.

Regarding battery storage and maintenance, even if you will not be using the battery for a long period of time, please charge and discharge it regularly.

I want to know the difference between parallel imports

Our products (WPL JAPAN) have been independently certified with the Technical Conformity Mark and have passed the Radio Law. Similarly, the battery has also been certified with the PSE Mark. Parallel imports do not have the Technical Conformity Mark, so they are in violation of the Radio Law and cannot be used in Japan.

As we are not involved in the manufacture or sale of parallel imports, customer support is also outside the scope of our coverage. If the product you have is not "WPL JAPAN" but a parallel import, please be sure to contact the retailer from which you purchased it.

When the steering wheel is turned, the car floats.

The following operations are subject to the steering mechanism specifications.

・Turn the steering wheel to the right: The body sinks. ・Turn the steering wheel to the left: The body floats.

This can be improved by using the [ Axle Servo Mount Kit] sold by our company.
The following are the benefits of implementation.

Turning radius is different on the left and right

For standard vehicle bodies, this is a structural specification.

If you want to make the cutting angles closer to uniform,
Axle servo mount , turbo racing transmitter/receiver , etc.
It will be necessary to replace the mechanism so that the EPA can be set separately for the left and right sides.

The benefits of this introduction are as follows:

When upgrading the motor

The receiver/ESC included with the RTR is designed to be used in combination with a standard gearbox (180 size motor).

Therefore, when combined with a 370 motor (such as a 2-speed transmission gearbox), it may not be able to achieve its full performance, although this will depend on the vehicle weight and load.

Since the ESC is under greater load than expected, we recommend replacing it with an ESC that is compatible with a 370 size motor.

troubleshooting

I can't steer, move forward or backward even when I operate the transmitter.

If you are unable to steer or move forward or backward, there are several possible causes. Please try the following.

Is pairing possible?

First, check whether pairing is possible. If pairing is not possible, there may be a problem with the transmitter (radio control) or the receiving board.


- Check whether the vehicle's power is turned on (headlights flashing)
- Check whether the transmitter is turned on (the light will flash)
- Turn the vehicle's power OFF then ON, then turn on the transmitter to see if pairing is possible → Both the headlights and transmitter will be lit.

If you are unable to pair, or if you have paired but are unable to move forward, backward or steer, and the motor is not working at all, please contact us using the inquiry form.

The vehicle can be steered (turned left and right), but cannot move forward or backward.

This may be due to a malfunction or failure of the motor gearbox or a faulty throttle in the transmitter.

Unable to move forward or backward

Motor failure, gear damage in the gearbox,
There may be a problem with the transmitter throttle.

-The motor runs when the transmitter throttle trigger is operated.
- If the vehicle is flipped upside down and there is no load, it will move forward and backward.

If the above applies, the gear and shaft inside the gearbox may not be sufficiently crimped.

I think it's a servo problem.

Unable to steer left or right

[Cause and Response]
Even when I operate the switch on the vehicle, the headlights do not appear to turn on, and the transmitter light remains flashing, so it is possible that the vehicle is not receiving power for some reason.

[Reconfirmation]
① Is the driving battery fully charged? ② When installing the driving battery, is the connector securely connected? - Connect it firmly until the tabs snap into place. ③ First, turn on the transmitter power and check that the light is flashing. ④ Turn on the vehicle power and check that the headlights of the transmitter and vehicle change from flashing to lit.

→ After checking the above, the issue was resolved.

The power turns off immediately after being turned on

The vehicle battery is not charging properly and the remaining charge is insufficient.
Possible causes include insufficient battery charge in the transmitter or a faulty circuit board.

■When charging the battery, the USB charger lamp may light up in a pattern other than the one listed below.
The battery or the charger, or both, may be faulty.
Charging: Green light/flashing, red light/on Charging: Green light/on, red light/on (or only charging: green light/on)

■The pairing suddenly ends.
The transmitter battery may not have enough power remaining.
If it is rechargeable, make sure it is fully charged, if not try replacing it with a new battery.

If the above two points do not apply, there may be some kind of problem with the board.

To prevent the vehicle from rolling over

There are two main ways to make a vehicle less likely to roll over.

1. Install the wheel weight set
2. Install metal upgrade parts

1. Install the wheel weight set

The easiest and most effective method is to install a set of wheel weights.

Rollover is prevented by making the parts closer to the road surface heavier and the parts further from the road surface (higher positions) lighter.
Of all the genuine WPL custom parts, wheel weights are likely to be the most effective.
At the same time, changing to soft tires helps to absorb road surface gaps to some extent, which seems to significantly reduce rollovers caused by sudden jolts.

2. Install metal upgrade parts

The next most effective way is to incorporate metal upgrade parts.

The front wheels are crooked

Fine adjustments can be made using the trim adjustment dial on the transmitter (radio control).

In addition, the D12 has the characteristic of being rear-wheel drive.
The front wheels steer the car, while the rear wheels transmit the driving force.

Due to its characteristics, the front wheels are intentionally set in a V-shape, known as "toe-out," to ensure the vehicle moves as stably and smoothly as possible in the direction of travel.

I want to know the difference between parallel imports

Our products (WPL JAPAN) have been independently certified with the Technical Conformity Mark and have passed the Radio Law. Similarly, the battery has also been certified with the PSE Mark. Parallel imports do not have the Technical Conformity Mark, so they are in violation of the Radio Law and cannot be used in Japan.

As we are not involved in the manufacture or sale of parallel imports, customer support is also outside the scope of our coverage. If the product you have is not "WPL JAPAN" but a parallel import, please be sure to contact the retailer from which you purchased it.

troubleshooting

I can't steer, move forward or backward even when I operate the transmitter.

If you are unable to steer or move forward or backward, there are several possible causes. Please try the following.

Is pairing possible?

First, check whether pairing is possible. If pairing is not possible, there may be a problem with the transmitter (radio control) or the receiving board.


- Check whether the vehicle's power is turned on (headlights flashing)
- Check whether the transmitter is turned on (the light will flash)
- Turn the vehicle's power OFF then ON, then turn on the transmitter to see if pairing is possible → Both the headlights and transmitter will be lit.

If you are unable to pair, or if you have paired but are unable to move forward, backward or steer, and the motor is not working at all, please contact us using the inquiry form.

The vehicle can be steered (turned left and right), but cannot move forward or backward.

This may be due to a malfunction or failure of the motor gearbox or a faulty throttle in the transmitter.

Unable to move forward or backward

Motor failure, gear damage in the gearbox,
There may be a problem with the transmitter throttle.

-The motor runs when the transmitter throttle trigger is operated.
- If the vehicle is flipped upside down and there is no load, it will move forward and backward.

If the above applies, the gear and shaft inside the gearbox may not be sufficiently crimped.

Headlights do not turn on even when the vehicle is turned on/Transmitter light keeps flashing

Even when I operate the switch on the vehicle, the headlights do not appear to turn on, and the transmitter light remains flashing, so it is possible that the vehicle is not receiving power for some reason.

[Reconfirmation]
① Is the driving battery fully charged? ② When installing the driving battery, is the connector securely connected? - Connect it firmly until the tabs snap into place. ③ First, turn on the transmitter power and check that the light is flashing. ④ Turn on the vehicle power and check that the headlights of the transmitter and vehicle change from flashing to lit.

→ After checking the above, the issue was resolved.

The power turns off immediately after being turned on

The vehicle battery is not charging properly and the remaining charge is insufficient.
Possible causes include insufficient battery charge in the transmitter or a faulty circuit board.

■When charging the battery, the USB charger lamp may light up in a pattern other than the one listed below.
The battery or the charger, or both, may be faulty.
Charging: Green light/flashing, red light/on Charging: Green light/on, red light/on (or only charging: green light/on)

■The pairing suddenly ends.
The transmitter battery may not have enough power remaining.
If it is rechargeable, make sure it is fully charged, if not try replacing it with a new battery.

If the above two points do not apply, there may be some kind of problem with the board.

To prevent the vehicle from rolling over

There are two main ways to make a vehicle less likely to roll over.

1. Install the wheel weight set
2. Install metal upgrade parts

1. Install the wheel weight set

The easiest and most effective method is to install a set of wheel weights.

Rollover is prevented by making the parts closer to the road surface heavier and the parts further from the road surface (higher positions) lighter.
Of all the genuine WPL custom parts, wheel weights are likely to be the most effective.
At the same time, changing to soft tires helps to absorb road surface gaps to some extent, which seems to significantly reduce rollovers caused by sudden jolts.

*This product is for C14, C24, C24-1, C34, etc. (for 4x4). Please note that it is not compatible with D12.

2. Install metal upgrade parts

The next most effective way is to incorporate metal upgrade parts.
