Will a paint booth improve my technique? Introducing a paint booth for the first time

塗装ブースでテクニックが向上する?初めての塗装ブース導入について

PROFIX is the next-generation standard airbrush brand that you can use for a long time.

In addition to stocking items recommended by professional modelers, we also offer rechargeable airbrushes and mini desktop compressors that are easy to use for beginners to intermediate users.

This time, we spoke to Isono, a new RAYWOOD staff member who is well-known from the official YouTube channel "Yuru Hobby," about "Installing a paint booth for the first time!"

He is in charge of "Yuru Hobby" on the official RAYWOOD YouTube channel. He is currently sharing painting techniques together with professional modeler Captain Kojima.

Hiding from his family and devoting himself to his hobbies

--How long have you been working as a modeler?

I don't do much to be called a modeler.

I've always loved plastic models, and painting them was just a hobby. It wasn't anything as grand as creating a work of art, I was just enjoying doing what I loved.

I have fond memories of painting on the balcony of my parents' house without disturbing my family!

-- Why on the balcony and not in the room?!

I couldn't work inside the house because the painting environment was not suitable.

At that time, there were many expensive items required to set up a painting environment, so we made a paint booth out of cardboard.

I think what happened was that I would bring the necessary items to the balcony when the family left, work on it while they were out, and then tidy up before they came back!

Steps up from the balcony

-- It's like it's hidden! What kind of painting environment are you in at the moment?

Currently, I have a full range of PROFIX products, including the Nitro Booth, and of course I'm working indoors!

The paint booth takes up the most space in a painting environment, so when our own product, the NITRO-BOOTH 350, was released, I thought, "Isn't this the best?"

I think size is important after all.

In addition, we use a desktop mini compressor called PROFIX NITRO-BOY to ensure ample work space.

-- How do you feel about having a good painting environment?

First of all, it goes without saying that it makes work easier!

I had to be mindful of my surroundings while painting, and now I can work not only on rainy days, but also on balconies in the middle of summer and winter, so I don't have to worry about the weather.

In terms of preparation, we used to prepare a large amount of cardboard for each painting session and set up a paint booth, but now we don't have that kind of time anymore.

I think the number of times I can get to work has definitely increased!

-- It's great to be able to enjoy your hobbies as much as you want, whenever you want!

No doubt about it!

Also, increasing the number of times you work means you have more time to hone your techniques, so I thought it was worth preparing the right painting environment for that reason as well.

Because it's a hobby, we want you to enjoy it wholeheartedly!

-- Now that you have your own painting setup, are there any "recommended items" that you would recommend?

I'm not a professional modeler, so I don't think it will be very persuasive coming from me, but I think that if there are any "cardboard people" or "balcony people" like me who are having trouble with their current painting environment, it would be a good idea to go ahead and get a paint booth.

You can use either spray cans or the airbrush you currently use to paint it.

Spend more time and effort painting and really enjoy your hobby!
